This fabulous Victorian large Ivory snake bangle is, Circa 1880.
The bangle is depicts a carved Snake which follows all the way round the bangle, it boasts wonderful craftsmanship.
The Ivory has developed a lovely smoothness with age.
Ivory is a material made from the teeth and tusks of animals (such as, notably, the elephant and the walrus).
Serpents represent love, loyalty and friendship, what a lovely combination. Serpents were also given as a token of love and friendship during the Victorian Era.
